Now in its 23rd year, Foyle Pride has grown year on year to become one of the key celebrations within Derry’s festival calendar.
Foyle Pride aims to acknowledge, empower and celebrate, as well as to encourage education and awareness on discriminations, and injustices experienced by the LGBT community through events ranging from talks to live music.
Last year saw more than 7000 people attend the Foyle Pride festival and organisers predict that this year there will be even more, making 2016 the biggest to date.
Highlights of this year’s festival include a ‘Photographic Exhibition Launch’ at the Playhouse from Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th August with work from Alexsia Henderson and Lisa Lynch, also the first ever Pride Comic Con will take place this year, celebrating LGBT characters in Comics, Sci-Fi and video games.
The final day of the festival is packed with great events including the Pride Parade, a barbecue after parade party and DJ JD Samson who will be performing at The Glassworks with tickets priced at £10.
