Foyleside will mark J.K. Rowling's latest book release with eight days of Pottermania

Foyleside will be getting into the Harry Potter mood ahead of the big release of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’, the hotly-anticipated new Harry Potter book from J.K. Rowling.

Based on the new West End play, this latest literary addition to the iconic Harry Potter series comes nine years after Rowling’s last foray into the world of Hogwarts, Hagrid and Harry – and Foyleside will be paying homage with eight days of ‘Pottermania’ leading up to the grand release at midnight on 31 July. Harry Potter fans are expected to descend on the centre from July 23-31 as it will be transformed into a magical world of wizardry to celebrate the release.

To mark the occasion, dress up as your favourite character from the series before you visit Foyleside and if your robes are in the wash, head to the Wizarding Wardrobe to get kitted out in-centre. Wizzy the Wizard will be setting up shop throughout the week to oversee proceedings, so be sure to get a few pictures with Derry’s most famous wizard.

Kids can take part in a free Harry Potter themed treasure hunt which sees them exploring the Centre’s top retailers in search of some hidden treasure, as well as visiting the craft workshop where they can be sorted into their very own Hogwarts house. With face-painting on offer as well, everyone who visits will be transformed into their favourite Harry Potter face – be it Harry, Hermione or even Hedwig.

But that’s not all, as one lucky family of four will be winning a £1,000 prize to spend on a trip of a lifetime to visit Harry Potter Land at the Warner Bros Studio in London!  Described as a Harry Potter fan’s dream experience, the Studio Tour gives a behind the scenes look at how the iconic series was brought to life and features a treasure trove of sets, props and magic which made the world fall in love with Harry Potter.
